Time is the only scarce resources that is common to us all. It just seems we never have enough time for everything.
In the book “The Greatness Guide“, Robin Sharma talks about waking up early as a way making the most use of our time. Here are 4 tips he offers:
1. “Don’t eat after 7pm - You will sleep more deeply as well as more sweetly”
2. “Don’t lounge in bed after your alarm clock goest off. Jump out of bed and start your day. The more time you lie in bed after the alarm goes off, the greater the liklihood that the chatter of your mind will say something like, “Stay in bed. Sleep a bit more. The bed is warm. You deserve it”
3. “Get into world class physical condition” – work out often
4. “Set BHAGs (Big Hairy Audacious Goals)” – These major goals will motivate you to get up early.
5. “Set your alarm clock 30 minutes fast”
After having tried the 5 tips above I find myself quite tired. It may be a matter of my body adjusting to the rigorous workouts. It may also be that I do internal math in my head the first thing I wake up. The other 3 do seem to make get up early though.
