It always seems that everyone is really busy with work and the career aspects  of their lives.  While work is of paramount importance to the family income (and livelihood), living a balanced life means you do not neglect the other areas of your life such as your family time.

Yes, the pressures of our work combined with our increasingly short weekends just places more emphasis on us to really make the most use of our family time with our loved ones.  The little time we do spend with our families need to have the most impact in order to maintain a balanced work/life balance.
This post will attempt to make a list of family outings / activities that result in (ideally) memorable family events.

For example, last weekend I took my 1 year old son for the first time to the neighbourhood playground.  I took a lot of pictures of him having fun and it was great for the both of us and my wife.  My kid thoroughly enjoyed the swings.  My wife enjoyed taking him to the park for the first time.  And I enjoyed the outing because it was entertaining to watch him have fun.  But also importantly, I got to bring along my camera and take some great shots (I am an avid photographer).  To me, this was a meaningful family outing for us.  In future, I will be planning to organize more outings like this to make the most of the little time we have on weekends.

Here is a list of other things I’ve done/ planned.  Would love to hear your ideas on this list too:
